1. Running school for poor children

Education is an essential human virtue, a necessity of society, basis of good life and sign of freedom. Education is important for integration of separate entities and we knew that India is a country with more than billion people, and just one-third of them can read. Rapidly growing size of population, shortages of teachers, books, and basic facilities and insufficient public funds to cover education costs are some of the nation’s toughest challenges. This is where children are facing the basic challenges and we are fourth among the top ten nations with the highest numbers of out-of children in primary level due to poverty. Hence as per area need we are successfully running pre & higher primary school with the permission of Govt. of KTK and it has been providing quality education to poor children.

2. WASH education for Govt. school children

As we knew that the importance of health particularly in childhood, if we motivate children to adopt healthy life styles which will be benefited all round development as a physically, healthy, socially useful & economically productive. In this regard we have visited some the schools and found that children’s are ill health they are facing preventable diseases. Hence we have organized WASH education programs in two Govt. schools of Magadi & Channapatna blocks and nearly 800 children were educated.

3. Awareness campaign on children’s rights..

Children rights awareness observed promotion & protection of their rights. According to UN convention on the rights of the children that India ratified in 1992 all the children are born with fundamental rights such as survival, development, protection & participation. Even though India’s children account for more than one-third of its population their interest has never been given priority & their rights have been violated every day. In this regard we have campaigned in two Gram Panchayths of Channapatna block & it has been resulted increase in school enrollments & minimizes child labour as well.

4. Orientation for mothers on malnutrition & low birth.

Present days we can find malnutrition & low birth among the mothers & children particularly in rural areas. So we have insisted kitchen gardening activity at their homes for continues supply of fresh fruits & vegetables which has nutritive value, free from toxic chemicals, it helps to save expenditure & induce children on awareness of dignity of labor. Therefore we have organized in area need Gram Panchayaths of Ramnagara & Magadi blocks and also distributed saplings to the mothers to overcome malnutrition & low birth..

5. Awareness program on HIV/Aids, malaria, TB, diabetic & immunization.

India has 2.4 million HIV positive people & also it has a long history of mobility/migration for livelihood. The communities from which migrants/emigrate are vulnerable HIV/Aids for several reasons & its severe stigma & discrimination are most often encountered in the health care settings though it has been rapidly spreading in to rural areas & the general population along with TB, Malaria & Diabetic. Hence we have been tried our best to disseminate about the preventive measures, care & support information/services by wall writing in public places & had orientation programs for adolescent groups & it has been successfully initiated in most of the blocks of Ramnagara district in association with health department.

6. Organized yoga camp.

Yoga is the most favorable method to connect to the nature by balancing the mind-body connection. It is a type of exercise which performed through the balanced body and need to get control over diet, breathing, and physical postures. It is associated with the meditation of body and mind through the relaxation of body. It is very useful to control over mind and body as well as getting proper health of body and mind by reducing the stress and anxiety. Therefore we have organized yoga camp in Magadi block and in that more than 130 persons were benefited.

7. Medical screenings for general public.

Even after decades of freedom, India is struggling to provide basic health services to its people and health care services to meet the immediate health care needs of the marginalized community in the remote rural areas and slums through standalone camps. A general health check-up camp has been conducted in Channapatna & Magadi blocks with the support of noted physicians and in that more than 380 parents & children were screened and also been provided necessary medicines.

8. Celebration of national festivals.

Every year we proudly celebrate national festivals with lots of enthusiasm and pleasures and festivals are 15th August - Independence Day and 26th Jan - Republic Day. In that we have organized several programs for children and nearly 320 children’s were actively participated in different programs like speeches, essay writing, drawing, singing & dancing etc. and distributed prizes to the winners.

9. Vocational training programs for SC & ST women.

India has come a long way since independence women’s who constitute nearly half of the population and play a very significant role in the home and outside. As per Nehuruji “To awake people it is the women who must be awakened. Once she is on the move, the family moves, the village moves and nation moves.” collective efforts have been initiated for education and empowerment of women particularly SC & ST in rural areas to learn at their own pace & set their own priorities to seek knowledge and information. Keeping in mind we have conducted three months intensive tailoring, candle, pickle making training program in 8 villages of the district and more than 800 women’s were benefited.

10. Orientation for farmers on vermin compost.

One must realize how bad our environment is by seeing the largest landfill in our town. It ruins the environment surrounding it and its just plain ugly to look at. We wonder how you could reduce the amount of garbage in your landfill to improve your environment and benefit everyone. Using worms is an easy and cheap way to get rid of your food wastes without it going to the land fill! This process is called vermin composting. This is where you feed worms your leftover food wastes, and they use it to make one of the best fertilizers you can get. So we have oriented/encouraged more than 140 farmers about initiation of vermin composts in their fields.

11. Celebration of teacher’s day.

5th September is being observed as Teacher’s Day every year on the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. He was highly dedicated towards the teaching profession and he has said that the teachers not only teach us subjects, but they improve our personality, confidence and skill level to overcome any issue in our life. Hence we have celebrated teacher’s day in our school. In that teachers & children were actively participated various programs & bagged many prizes.

12. Employability initiatives for unemployed youths.

Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development for any country. Countries with higher and better levels of skills adjust more effectively to the challenges and opportunities of world of work. However today’s world is too competitive if we want survive; one must be skilled and now a day’s opportunities are more but in rural/backward area it is very difficult to get an appropriate knowledge or skills which gives better future for youth. In this regard we have provided need based skills & appropriate guidance to 150 unemployed youths in Ramnagara district and referred them to various companies for employment.

13. Awareness programs on road safety.

As we knew that road accidents, injury and death has been very common now-a-days. People not following the road traffic rules and road safety measures are the main cause of such accidents on the roads. We always hear in the news or by our friends about the road accidents because of the wrong side driving, lack of road safety rules, measures, high speed, drunk driving, etc. Government has made road traffic and safety rules for everyone which we must follow & road incidents. In this regard we have campaigned in Vijayanagara & Ramnagara blocks with the valuable support of traffic department.

14. Child labour campaigns.

Child labour has become a biggest issue in any under developing countries due to acute poverty and poor schooling opportunities for the children. The highest incidence rate of the child labour is still more than 50% in which children of age group 5 to 14 are working in the agriculture and domestic sectors which is mostly found in the rural and informal urban economy. Healthy children are the bright future and power of any nation thus child labour is damaging, spoiling and destroying the future of the children and finally the country. Therefore we have organized massive awareness programs in Ramnagara district to overcome the issue.

15. Children’s day celebration.

14th of November will be celebrated children’s day every year all over the India in the name of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and it recommended that the day of activities devoted to promoting the ideals & objectives of the charter & the welfare of the children. Hence we have conducted sports and cultural programs in our school and most of the children were actively participated & bagged many prizes.

16. Legal awareness program.

About 70% of the populations are living in rural areas and most of them are illiterate and even more then that percentage of the people are not aware of rights confirmed upon them by law. Even substantial number of literate people living in the cities and villages do not know what are the rights and entitlements under the law. It is absence of legal awareness which is responsible for the deception, exploitation and deprivation of rights and benefits, from which the people suffer in the state. The miserable condition in which the people find themselves can be alleviated to some extent by creating legal awareness amongst the people. Hence we have created massive awareness in Magadi & Channapatna blocks.
